P. Licinius Crassus M.f, 55 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.71 g, 6 h), Rome. S•C Laureate, diademed and draped bust of Venus to right. Rev. [P•]CRASSVS•M F Female figure leading horse to left with her right hand and holding spear in her left; at her feet, cuirass and shield set on ground. Babelon (Licinia) 18. Crawford 430/1. RBW 1539. Sydenham 929. Wonderful old collection toning. The reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good very fine.

From the Joseph Markowitz Collection (1897-1981), brought to Israel in 1949 and kept in the family ever since.
